PLASTICS FIRM DROPS $50M IN LINCOLNTON
Aptar?s EVP and COO Steve Hagge announces major new project for Lincoln County
AptarGroup, a global supplier of such items as spray and lotion pumps, dispensing closures, and aerosol valves, will spend $50M over the next five years on a new plant in Lincolnton expected to employ up to 150. The company's products serve the beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage markets. Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Aptar will make an initial investment of about $27M in the next two years upgrading the 180k SF former Robb & Stucky furniture warehouse into a manufacturing plant, says Aptar?s EVP Steve Hagge. The project was made possible in part by a state grant—Job Development Investment Grant—that could yield up to $1M in benefits for the company.
