MEET THE NEW(-ISH) COLLIERS TEAM

Brokers, property managers, and office personnel from many of Charlotte's most familiar brokerages coalesced late last year into what is now the Charlotte office of Colliers International. And that 15-plus group  has just taken 6,000 SF on the 33rd floor of the One Wells Fargo Center uptown. And it still has that new car smell.

The local Colliers office is a house divided, but in a good way. About half the team is office and about half is industrial. We met with the whole crew this week, and the insights into current market conditions flew fast and furious, touching on office leasing, investment sales, and the stock market roller coaster. On diversifying within the market: Greg Copps, formerly of Clarus Properties, loves his current group but says ?We may branch out later.? Industrial partner and former Clarus alum Lawrence Shaw finished Greg's thought: ?But we're going to fry the fish we have in the pan right now.? (Never conduct interviews on an empty stomach.) The execs at Colliers easily have amassed more than 200 years of local brokerage experience.
