Charlotte average rental rate growth has been higher than the national average

By year's end ?11, average monthly rent was up 5.7% from 1.8% for the same period in '10, Engle says. But nationally, rents have yet to grow at rates previously projected. NY-based ReisVictor Calanog says his early predictions for national rent growth in ?11 were greater than 6%. The market watcher scaled back rent growth to about 2.6% after year-end numbers rolled in.
