| JLL SVPs Charles Jonas and Charley Leavitt swear having a "char" in your name isn't a requirement for working in Charlotte. Charles also says the market has been tightening for the past few quarters, but large blocks of available space exist in the lower banks of too many office towers: ?There's a bifurcated market in the CBD, lower versus upper elevator banks. Between these two markets, the story is quite different.? The lower banks have large blocks of available space, where landlord competition will remain strong for the rest of 2012. By contrast, there's limited availability in the upper elevator banks, such as at Fifth Third Center, and tenants will have to compete among themselves for space if they want to be there. |
