Cool Space: Fennick McCredie Architecture
This week's cool office space is at Fennick McCredie Architecture's new studio space in Downtown Crossing.
As architects, the creative process is both highly visual and collaborative, so the firm wanted its new space to be supportive of that process. The studio is flexible to support individual work stations as well as collaborative spaces. The space is set up to allow for those interactions (some of them spontaneous) without disrupting working individuals.
Also, much of the firm's space is set up like a gallery in which projects and progress can be displayed, inviting discussion and interaction among various teams within the office as well as visitors. This also allows everybody in the office to follow the progress of projects they may not be directly working on.
The office also features a centrally located kitchen which is a common spot for conversations and an exchange of ideas among staff and visitors, as well as plenty of staging areas for events and the occasional bake-off challenges the firm holds throughout the year.
