SelectLeaders’ Client Seeks VP of Asset Management to Lead Strategy for Expanding Affordable Housing Portfolio

Our client, a respected developer and owner of high-quality affordable and senior housing, is seeking a Vice President of Asset Management and Compliance to oversee and scale the performance of a rapidly growing portfolio spanning California and the Pacific Northwest.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Development, the VP will guide long-term strategic planning and day-to-day oversight across Asset Management, Portfolio Management, and Compliance. This role is responsible for driving value creation, portfolio performance, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration, all while aligning with the organization’s social mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership across asset, portfolio, and compliance functions in line with organizational goals
- Oversee a large portfolio of stabilized and pre-stabilization affordable and senior housing communities
- Develop and execute asset strategies, long-term capital plans, and financial performance benchmarks
- Partner with internal teams including Property Management, Accounting, Legal, Development, and Insurance
- Monitor and report on portfolio health including financial, physical, and operational performance
- Manage regulatory compliance and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and public agencies
- Lead budgeting, variance analysis, reserve management, and cash flow forecasting
- Mentor and grow a high-performing team; foster a culture of accountability and impact
- 7+ years in asset management or affordable housing leadership, including experience with LIHTC properties
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Deep experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to build, lead, and scale teams within mission-driven, high-growth environments
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Can sit out of Los Angeles or San Francisco
