Orega, the co-working platform, has signed for another 11K SF at Ashby Capital's Colmore Building, adding to the 17K SF it already operates in the 330K SF Birmingham office market landmark.

The move comes as Birmingham office market data shows that co-working and serviced office platforms begin to change the shape of the city, mopping up many of the smaller deals in the first quarter.

The deal also means Orega will take a 10-year management agreement, operating a new co-working area that will run seamlessly into the building’s coffee house and reception.

The coffee bar and co-working area were created by architectural practice MoreySmith as part of the £3.5M refurbishment on the Colmore Building.

“With enquiries for flexible office space in Birmingham increasing by more than a third over the last two years, and occupancy levels at The Colmore Building averaging 96% over 2017, we are excited to be increasing our presence," Orega Real Estate Director Robin Pugh said.

The future of the workplace and the impact co-working is having on Birmingham will be among the topics at the Bisnow Birmingham State of the Market event on 26 April. Speakers include West Midlands Metro Mayor Andy Street.
