Amazon is to open a new Rugby fulfilment centre and has confirmed that recruitment has begun for a Coventry super-depot.

The Rugby fulfilment centre is to meet increasing customer demand, expand selection and enable small and medium enterprises selling on Amazon Marketplace to scale their businesses.

Amazon declined to say where, or how large, the warehouse is, but recruitment material posted on the Amazon website shows that it is close to the A426 at Cosford at Roxhill's Rugby Gateway site.

"The final two units of 180K SF and 290K SF were speculatively developed and completed in September 2016," according to the Roxhill website. "The larger unit is now under offer which leaves the last remaining unit of 180K SF available."

Rugby will be the fourth Amazon fulfilment centre in the Midlands and joins centres in Coalville and Daventry which opened in 2016 and Rugeley which opened in 2011.

In addition, the first dedicated U.K. receiving centre will open in Coventry in 2018 and act as a central hub to receive and sort millions of products sold on Amazon.co.uk each year.

The 400K SF Coventry receiving centre will be on a site once tipped for use by JLR.
