Holly Poultry Inc. unveiled a new poultry processing plant in West Baltimore Thursday, which will allow it to quadruple its production and expand its reach in the mid-Atlantic.

Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh, Holly Poultry CEO Zachary Fine, Baltimore City Council President Bernard "Jack" Young and Baltimore Development Corp. officials presided over a ribbon-cutting at the new 38K SF plant at 2121 Wicomico St.

The company processes poultry from Perdue Farms and others to food distributors that supply food outlets from New York to Richmond. The company has enjoyed steady growth. In 1990, it employed 20 people, and today employs 250 in Baltimore. It expects to hire another 150 over the next three to five years with the expansion.
