German Software HQ Up in Air for Georgia Tech HPCC

Georgia Tech's High Performance Computing Center project may not be getting the US HQ of a software company it had hoped for. RIB Software's US Cost CEO Suzanne Moltzen tells us that "we don't have any commitments" at the 700k SF mixed-use tower, including whether it plans to move its US HQ to the project. Currently, US Cost is at Northpark Town Center, but its US HQ is designated at its Memphis office, Suzanne says. “We're just keeping our options open, but we still have every intention of working with Georgia Tech and being in that area."

Cushman & Wakefield's Tony Zivalich, tapped by Tech to project manage the tower, says that RIB is in talks to “participate” in the project, but that the extent of its presence “is in the planning stages.” Those discussions not only include office space, but also data center hosting usage. Portman has been tapped to develop the 24-story tower in Technology Square, half of which is being leased by Georgia Tech. Germany-based RIB was previously identified by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as possibly in talks to take as much as 100k SF at the tower for its US HQ. Suzanne denies they were in negotiations for that much space.
