Social media giant Facebook has a new status update: It's occupying a floor at Midtown's newest timber-framed office development.

Facebook is leasing 36K SF at T3 West Midtown, the seven-story office tower being developed by Hines, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. The $80M building, the city's first-ever timber-framed office tower, is located in Atlantic Station.

This is the latest win for Hines at its new project. The company managed to land Macy's IT department in the retailer's big operations consolidation out of San Francisco earlier this year. Macy's is leasing 105K SF for as many as 400 employees at T3.

Hines has doubled down on Atlantic Station — one of Atlanta's first major mixed-use projects — by breaking ground on another spec office development known as Atlantic Yards, a two-building project more than twice the size of T3. It is currently under construction.
