AON Shortening List Of Potential Office Locations

A global insurance giant is zeroing in on its potential new office, one that could be as big as 125k SF, in Atlanta, in a search that includes the former Newell Rubbermaid HQ.

Three Glenlake Parkway Atlanta

AON is shortening its list of possible new office locations in metro Atlanta. Among the contenders: Three Glenlake, the nearly 375k SF Class-A office building off Abernathy Road in Central Perimeter, and Buckhead's newest trophy tower, Three Alliance Center.

Sources familiar with AON's search say other contenders include Wildwood Towers and 2500 Wildwood, both in Cobb County. The deal could mean AON's offices, now at Riverwood 100 in Cumberland/Galleria, move to a whole new submarket. It's unclear if AON's offices at One Piedmont Center are involved in this deal. AON's RFP is being spearheaded by JLL. Officials with JLL could not be reached for comment.

At Three Glenlake, AON could fill the hole vacated by Newell Rubbermaid, which downsized its HQ and moved to a smaller facility at 6655 Peachtree-Dunwoody Road in 2015, as we reported here.

As for Three Alliance Center, Tishman Speyer's underway spec office development in Buckhead, AON could add to the momentum there, which has seen the tower already snag leases with Global Payments and is close to deals with both State Street and CBRE.
