How Cumberland is Growing

Placeholder

$3.5B in public and private investment is making its way through the pipeline in Cumberland by 2018, according to CID director Malaika Rivers. The private side, at about $1.5B, equates to more than 20 projects and includes six new Class-A office towers. It also includes nearly 5,000 dwelling units, ready for 10,000 new residents. And don’t forget the Atlanta Braves mixed-use development. With an initial commitment of $400M, the project has now grown to well over a half a billion dollars, opening in 2017. The rest consists of $2B in public infrastructure that is planned or underway in and around the Cumberland area. Malaika adds that on top of the new investment, the CID saw nearly 400% more real estate properties sold in 2014 compared to 2013. With this new flurry of activity, don’t expect to find Malaika in her office working on her punching bag too often these days. For more info on our Bisnow sponsor, click here.
