| In some automotive irony, sources tell us that Porsche North America is planning to move its HQ to the property that once was home to the former Ford plant in Hapeville. Sources say Gov.Nathan Deal and state economic development officials will make an announcement about the deal as early as Thursday morning. This end a months-long search by Porsche to find a new HQ, leaving Lakeside Commons in Central Perimeter (seen here with the white Porsche 911 and all). We'll know the details later this week, but we previously reported that the sports car maker was in the market for 60k to 80k SF, including a 10k SF ?customer experience center? and—perhaps the ultimate in coolness—a test driving track, a feature the new HQ will get at Aerotropolis. This will be the start—and perhaps the crown jewel— of Jacoby Development's latest mixed-use ambition since the firm bought the land in 2008. | |||
