Mercer University economist Roger Tutterow

Though Mercer University economist Roger Tutterow didn't directly address real estate during his update yesterday at the Mercer Executive Forum, he did discuss something near and dear to office owners and developers: new jobs. One of the Southeast?s top economists, Tutterow, whom we snapped with Mercer?s business school dean David Shields, delivered some good news during his talk a few minutes later: Georgia actually added jobs in March. He quickly followed with the bad: The Peach State still is down 112,000 jobs over the past 12 months. ?It will take a long time  to get back to where we were in 2007,? Tutterow told the crowd at the downtown Capital City Club. Rapt attendees included execs from Kim King Associates, City Realty Advisors, Raulet Property Partners and BB&T. Oh, and what did he mean by ?a long time?? Tutterow said about six years. Ouch.
