HAIL TO THE CHIEF (ELECT)!
Furman Wood

We stopped by to see Commercial Property Professionals' Furman Wood  in his new digs off Northside Drive. While there, we learned he's been named president elect of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors for 2011 (cue "Hail to the Chief" music). That means he takes the presidential reins of the country's largest commercial board in 2012. This year, of course, CBRE's John Ferguson is president-elect. The board also consists of four VPs for 2011: Avison Young's Steve Dils, Cushman & Wakefield's John "Speedy" O'Neill, Grubb & Ellis' Dave Watson, and JLL's Kay Younglove. Furman's firm, co-founded with Danny Levison,  has grown to some dozen brokers over the past two years and is scouting for more talent to add to the roster, he tells us.

Here's part of Furman's crew: Tom KubisSteve HannaWilliam Wood, and Reed Davis. They chatted with us on the velocity of deals. Most recently, Steve and Tom helped LGR Telecom lease 10K SF at 10 Glenlake Pkwy. in Sandy Springs (Mike Wells  with Highwoods Properties handled the deal for the landlord). The duo also repped Unbounded Solutions for a 14K SF sublease at Atlantic Center Plaza (with NAI/Brannen Goddard's Jim Devaney).
