Gold Kist Mystery Buyer Revealed!

Atlanta-based Crown Holdings Group is on track to buy the former Gold Kist HQ in Dunwoody. (And you thought it was Col. Mustard.)

After weeks of speculation, Crown Holdings quietly announced its intent to purchase  the  262k SF  building and the surrounding 15-acre site for an undisclosed sum. Officials with the company issued a statement saying it had "been eyeing the site for over a year." (Too shy to say hello at first, but eventually got the courage to introduce themselves.) Binswanger's Jim Medbery has been marketing the site for months and will help close the deal by year's end. The new mystery is what's next with the property. (Somewhere in the world, Marat Safin just shed a single tear.) Crown partner Blair Schlossberg says, "The property has been the corporate HQ of two of Georgia's greatest corporations in the past. We intend to  keep that tradition moving forward." Sources familiar with Crown's plans say—as of now—there is nothing solid. There may be plans for a hotel, but no flag has been mentioned.
