What of that headline in a column on this week?s NY Times website: "Betting on Atlanta?? The author, a Harvard econ prof, acknowledged we may be in for some difficult years near term, but thinks it's a long-term winner due to its geography, regional dominance, business-friendly environment, and highly-skilled workforce. He notes 43% of adults here have college degrees, compared to 27% nationally. After reading the concluding words—?Smart money never bets against the ability of a huge concentration of smart people to weather an economic storm?—it's hard not to feel optimistic and ignore today's rain.
