ATL'S DESIGN STAR
John Beasley calls it the virtue of his firm's diversity. We call it getting assignments with some of the metro area's biggest current developments.

We got a  grand tour of Wakefield Beasley's Peachtree Corners offices last week and a glimpse into the varied assignments on which the architectural firm is working. John tells us the firm has ?hit all segments? of the CRE industry. It's design roster:

  • The Primerica HQ in Duluth.
  • The Avalon mixed-use project in Alpharetta.
  • LakePoint Sporting Community and Town Center, the massive 1,400-acre sports complex being developed in part by former Atlanta Braves manager  Bobby Cox.
  • And a portion of the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport's Concourse A food court renovations.

Like most architectural firms, John tells us Wakefield Beasley took its lumps when the ?train wreck? occurred in 2008. After chasing all sorts of work, John says the company refocused on projects it knew it could do best. ?Our relationship through the brokerage community... throughout our existence has really helped us out a lot,? he says. It's focused on big projects, like Avalon (above) and healthcare work through its alliance with the firm Francis Cauffman. John isn't glum on the future and sees projects increasing after the next  presidential election. ?I think the day after election, depending on how it goes, will be the start of big things happening.?
