AS MIKE SEES IT
Want to get a jump-start on upcoming deals? Meet the major Atlanta players at one of our upcoming events!
Mike Elting has been back at the job now two years after his battle with throat cancer (thankfully, he's in remission). Seeing him, we're throwing our lot in with the healing power of being busy: "The activity is truly back." Mike told us in his office overlooking the I-75/85 Connector at 55 Ivan Allen Plaza. He says Cushman & Wakefield is handling some major potential office transactions, including Atlanta Gas Light and Alston & Bird. Even on the industrial side, business is picking up-the brokerage just completed the 800K SF Phillips-Van Heusen warehouse deal as Bisnowreported last week. Mike cautions while we're at the economic bottom and recovery is underway, "I think 2011 will only be marginally better because there was so much pent-up demand. I think it's a two- to three-year slow-but-sure recovery."
