Georgia's Purchasing Managers Index, compiled by Kennesaw State University's Don Sabbarese, was 63.2—anything over 50 is considered a sign of growth. While the index dropped 0.1% from April, Sabbarese says it's nothing to worry about. The best part is the employment  number—one of several factors included in the index—has grown four straight months. In May, 28.6% of manufacturers in the survey reported increased hiring, while just 3.6% said they were reducing workforces.
