Crystal City Wednesday Night Spins!

Placeholder

What is a neighborhood to do when many of its over 20,000 parking spaces go underutilized because of its strong transit and bicycle connections? Host an indoor bicycle race, of course. At least that's what the Crystal City BID, Vornado/Charles E. Smith and Crosshairs Cycling are doing for the second year in a row with the Wednesday Night Spins bicycle race series. Racing every Wednesday in March, starting at 6pm, the event features a professionally managed and timed criterium-style race for beginners and experienced riders with a beer and wine garden hosted by the Washington Wine Academy for spectators. The first week of racing kicked off last week with registration (available online and on-site) still open for the remaining Wednesdays. Whether you are racing or watching, arriving by bicycle is encouraged, but if you drive, there will still be plenty of space available for you to park for free—most Crystal City garages are free when entering after 4pm on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays.
