The Wharf Lands $145M Bond. Meet the Lawyer Behind It.
You may have heard that the $2B mixed-use waterfront development The Wharf announced issuance of its first series of TIF bonds, for nearly $146M. The firm that represented developer Hoffman-Madison Waterfront was Ballard Spahr.
DC managing partner Joe Fanone led the representation. (He's pictured here in '12 from our tour of the firm's new office.) The tax increment financing bonds, measuring $145,445,000, were issued with the highest ratings in DC's history.
The bonds will go toward Phase 1 of the $2B waterfront redevelopment, expected in 2017. It's planned to include 1.4M SF, including piers, parks, residential, office, hotel and retail space.
