A vacant storefront on M Street in Georgetown will soon be home to the neighborhood's third Starbucks.

The leading coffee retailer has applied for a permit to open a 2,600 SF store at 3347 M St. NW. The building is owned by PVS International and H&R Retail is leasing the space. H&R declined to comment on the deal.

The storefront, which shares a block with The North Face and the original Sweetgreen, sits on one of DC's most popular retail corridors. It was previously home to Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, which closed last year.

Starbucks has not announced an opening date for the store. It will have a seating area that fits 45 people, according to planning documents. The new location will sit just four blocks from Starbucks' other Georgetown store at 3122 M St. NW. The chain also has a store in the Washington Harbor retail plaza at 3050 K St. NW.
