Leidos Holdings has signed a full-building lease for a new, 17-story office tower Boston Properties plans to build at Reston Town Center.

The information technology contractor will move its HQ from another Reston Town Center office building to 17Fifty, a 276K SF trophy office building planned at 1750 President St., the Washington Business Journal reports.

After Leidos spun off from SAIC in 2013, the company moved from McLean to Reston Town Center's One and Two Freedom Square. Leidos then acquired a division of Lockheed Martin in a $5B deal in 2016 and decided to look for a new space to consolidate employees from multiple locations.

After an 18-month search across the region, Leidos decided to stay in Reston Town Center and occupy the new office building, which Boston Properties expects to deliver in 2020. Shalom Baranes Associates designed the office tower, which is also planned to include 8K SF of retail space and a four-floor, below-grade parking garage.
