MRP Buys H Street Site, Plans 112-Unit Mixed-Use

MRP Realty and Kruger Real Estate are planning to build a 93k SF apartment building with 6k SF of retail on a newly acquired H Street NE site.

The JV bought the vacant, three-parcel site at 315 H St NE, which sits in front of a stop on the H Street streetcar. The 112-unit residential building with ground-floor retail, rendered above, is expected to deliver in spring 2018.

“H Street is one of the most historic streets in Washington and over the course of the past decade our government and business leaders have returned it to its roots as an energized commercial and creative hub in the midst of an authentic urban neighborhood,” MRP principal John Begert said in a release.

Two blocks away, Insight Property Group has begun pre-leasing for its 430-unit Apollo on H condo building, anchored by a ground-floor Whole Foods, slated to open next year. H Street will be a main topic of discussion at Bisnow's Hottest Corridors event Oct. 6.
