GW To Open Kidney Center Thanks To Large Gift

Placeholder

In two days, George Washington University will cut the ribbon on the Joy and Ron Paul Kidney Center named after EagleBank’s chairman and wife (above), who donated $2.5M to the hospital’s new kidney transplant program. The center will focus on educating the public on the causes of kidney failure, encourage live kidney donations, and partner with GW’s Transplant Institute to connect people who need kidney transplants with resources. Ron, who’s had two kidney transplants, will also chair a five-member board overseeing the new center. GW performed its first-ever paired kidney exchange earlier this year. Ron’s philanthropy also includes launching the National Kidney Foundation’s Annual Ronald D. Paul Companies Kidney Walk, which has raised over $900k and the EagleBank Foundation, which has raised over $2.1M for breast cancer research, patient services and education.
