Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) members raced, roasted, then rode their way toward raising over $60k for community partner Habitat for Humanity GTA during its annual Habitat Week events. Things wrapped up Tuesday at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, where cycling enthusiasts gathered for the 5th annual Stephen’s Ride for Humanity, in memory of BILD’s late CEO, Stephen Dupuis. Habitat Week kicked off July 8 with BILD's annual Race for Humanity, as 23 teams competed in a scavenger hunt around Toronto, with balloon archery and sumo wrestling among the challenges. The finish line was BILD's HQ, where a BBQ drew more than 500 builders, developers, renovators and service pros. Since 2003, BILD has raised $825k for Habitat and helped 12 partner families realize homeownership dreams, notes CEO Bryan Tuckey, seen here with Habitat GTA CEO Ene Underwood and the Cernanec family, residents of the 12th BILD-Habitat home.
