Cadillac Fairview has installed a new pedestrian bridge between the Toronto Eaton Centre and downtown’s Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue stores.

The bridge connects the south-facing side of the mall to the north-facing Bay store on Queen Street West.

Architects WilkinsonEyre designed the structure, featuring glass and etched bronze cladding panels. The structure was assembled off-site and laid into place the weekend of July 7.

The pedestrian bridge is scheduled to open this fall.

The new structure replaces a 40-year-old pedestrian bridge that was removed in May. Two million people use the pedestrian bridge annually.
