Across the Potomac, the Arlington neighborhood of Ballston has undergone a retail renaissance. Forest City has transformed Ballston Common into a model for experiential shopping centers. The renovations come as the Ballston office market fills in the gap government agencies have left behind, and as the D.C. office market overall experiences a comeback.
As the president of Forest City, Debby Ratner Salzberg oversees the neighborhood’s transformation, as well as many of the company’s development projects along the East Coast.
