SIPtember Well Underway Following 10th Annual Sip & Salsa Success

Several thousand people came to Crystal City this past Sunday for live music, sips and tastes at the 10th annual Crystal City Sip & Salsa, organized by the Crystal City BID's event team, comprised of Dana Williams, Rob Mandle, Angela Fox, and Joe Petty, pictured below.

Two live music stages featured the musical talents of Trio Caliente, Antonio Orta and Wayne Wilentz, providing the perfect soundtrack to accompany the 38 wines—from Spain, Portugal and Argentina—guests sampled. The Salsa Room brought a different Latin flavor and heat with professional Salsa and Bachata performances, lessons and plenty of songs to ignite the crowd. The infectious rhythm was irresistible.

Guests also noshed on selections from more than a dozen area restaurants, including Portofino, Epic, Jaleo, Schakolad and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, which was celebrating its 50th anniversary. Commonwealth Joe even brought its Nitro Cold Brew Trike for a delicious and caffeinated alternative beverage.

SIPtember continues in Crystal City with Pups and Pilsners this Sunday, Sept. 18 (tickets on sale now); Wine in the Water Park every Friday through the end of the month; and the Crystal Screen Sips & Sweets outdoor movie festival.

The Crystal City BID encourages DC area residents to mark their calendars and enjoy the end of summer this SIPtember! The full lineup of SIPtember events is below.
