Millar + Associates Joins Collective Architecture, Igniting Dynamic Design Studio

Collective Architecture recently announced its partnership with Millar + Associates, and the newly augmented team is excited by this joint venture that promises to capitalize on the sparks of creativity already flying between collaborators.

The diverse base of repeat clients carried over by Olivia Millar provides ample kindling to the already successful firm started by principals Alex Hurtado (center) and Charles Plymale.

Fusing their complementary project experience and client base, the award-winning design teams merged after the three leaders sensed a promising, powerful synergy in their approaches to commercial interior architecture.

Olivia brings extensive design and managerial experience that includes projects for commercial, retail, government, nonprofit and educational clients. Her design career began at Mancini Duffy, a New York-based architecture and design firm working on interiors for high-profile clients like Capital One, Wachovia, Fannie Mae and UBS, along with multiple law firms.

She then launched and ran the National Sustainability Practice for Savills Studley in Washington, DC, returning to Mancini Duffy briefly before establishing Millar + Associates four years ago.

Now, her group joins Collective Architecture, a full-service architectural practice founded in 2010 in DC. This brings the firm to more than 25 associates who provide architecture, planning, branding, consulting and design services.

Charles, Alex and Olivia are excited to build on the great foundation both firms provide, the springboard for launching a robust organization ready to serve clients with renewed strength and depth.
