The commercial real estate market in Southern California has experienced major changes since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. In early 2021, several sectors of SoCal’s CRE market, including retail and hospitality, were still hard hit due to the decline in in-person activities, and the demand for office space greatly decreased. But now, things are starting to look up, particularly in the multifamily arena.
As the SoCal market continues to heat up again, investors may start once again looking for ways to enhance their portfolios. This involves paying attention to the trends that have been arising as a result of the pandemic, such as the flock to the suburbs and the shift to remote and hybrid work. Gaining expert insight into what the SoCal market might look like in 2022 can help investors make strategic decisions — it’s not enough to know which asset classes and markets are hottest right now, investors need to be prepared for what lies ahead in a post-pandemic landscape.
At Bisnow’s in-person event, SoCal Deal Flow, Investment Strategy and 2022 Forecast, on Nov. 9, attendees can learn about how CRE professionals approach equity and debt in the SoCal market and what factors to consider when taking on a new asset. Panels will be moderated by Nikole Zoumberakis, senior counsel at Buchalter, and Keith Pollock, partner at Allen Matkins.
