Colliers Taps Brian Hilger As Philadelphia Brokerage Market Leader
A new hire with decades of commercial real estate experience will be leading Colliers’ brokerage activities in and around Philadelphia.
Brian Hilger has been hired as the firm’s new executive managing director and brokerage market leader for the greater Philadelphia region.
He will oversee all brokerage operations, including recruitment, retention and business development for the five Colliers offices in the area.
“We are excited to welcome Brian, who brings deep knowledge of the Philadelphia market, to our team,” East Region Brokerage President Gregg Shutan, who Hilger will report to, said in a press release.
“As we work to expand and improve our offerings to our clients in the Philadelphia region, I know that Brian’s expertise will be vital to delivering excellent results for our clients.”
Hilger has been working in the commercial real estate industry for nearly 25 years. Most recently, he worked at KBC Advisors, where he was a founding member of the Philadelphia office. He’s also spent nearly two decades at Cushman & Wakefield and about three years at Avison Young.
Hilger provided details about his plans in an interview with the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“We're going to recruit new brokers, top talent that’s looking for an entrepreneurial place to go where they're not siloed,” he told the outlet.
“They can leverage their relationships on a national basis with Colliers’ platform, and ultimately, we're going to service our clients the best way we can and we're going to set up our brokers for the best success that they can have.”
Hilger plans to focus on capital markets and the industrial and office sectors. He declined to reveal how many workers he plans to hire during the PBJ interview. Colliers already has 102 employees in the Philadelphia region.
Hilger said he sees better days ahead for commercial real estate.
“Certainty in the market is coming,” he told PBJ. “That’s going to be positive for us and our clients.”
