What You Don't Know About Eric Hinkelman

Position: Exec managing director, Voit Real Estate Services.

Background: Thirty years in the business. Started my career in 1984 at CBRE (Coldwell Banker back then) as a leasing agent for eight years, then Trammell Crow Co for 14 years there doing brokerage followed by institutional management and running the SoCal region for brokerage. The past eight years at Cushman & Wakefield, overseeing three offices, and then the Western US for investor services. Joined Voit three months ago.

Favorite Song: Changes every month or when I hear something I like.

Music Group: See above, but I do like many of the popular '80s bands (yes, I’m old). Tom Petty.

Favorite vacation: Any place in the mountains where there's a river where I can fish. I love Hawaii (family favorite) but I think I enjoy Idaho/Wyoming and Montana more. We went to a dude ranch a couple of years ago in Wyoming that takes the prize! Even though I don’t particularly like horses and they think less of me, the place was great fun and truly memorable, other than the horseback riding.

Favorite Book: A tie between Lonesome Dove and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Favorite Food: Thai.

Startling fact: Tough one. I used to be a decent golfer, but now I putt like I’m 90 years old with three pots of coffee in my system, and have resorted to the claw grip—which is embarrassing for anyone that plays and knows the game!
