Inside Un[Co]Mmon's Oakland Office Space

A new turnkey office provider has opened a new flexible office at Rubicon Point Partners’ 1750 Broadway in Oakland. The company, which occupies 10K SF in the 30K SF building, offers flexible co-working space with the branding, privacy and scalability of a traditional office. Un[CO]mmon provides spaces for companies with 10 to 100 employees or more.

Oakland is quickly becoming a co-working and flexible office market. WeWork launched its first Oakland location earlier this year. Other existing co-working providers include The Port Workspaces and Oakstop.

Un[CO]mmon is its own company, but was originally launched by Rubicon in 2017 to service its own properties. It also is available to service other landlords’ properties. The turnkey office provider offers fully built-out collaborative workspaces and manages the space.

The office space at 1750 Broadway includes three conference rooms, two phone booths, an open kitchen stocked with food and coffee, common lounge areas and social meeting space.

The first Un[CO]mmon space in San Francisco reached capacity soon after announcing its grand opening. Its third location in San Francisco’s Mid-Market is expected to open later this year.

Rubicon has proposed to build a 37-story tower at 1750 Broadway, which is undergoing review.
