Washington Winter Show!

Last week, we headed to the Washington Winter Show's Preview Night at American University's Katzen Center.

This year's show theme is "The Charm of Chinoiserie" highlighting European and American interpretation and imitation of Chinese and East Asian artistic traditions in interior design. We snapped Washington Life Senior Editor Kevin Chaffee with Genny Ryan, board of directors member and interior designer Amy Zantzinger and Washington Post Publisher and CEO Fred Ryan.

The Washington Winter Antiques Show was founded in 1955 to raise funds for local charities serving the needs of at-risk children and families. This year, the show is supporting St. John’s Community Services, the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, and THEARC in Southeast D.C. During the past 62 years, the Washington Winter Show has provided more than $8.5M to its chosen charities in the D.C. area. The annual show has become one of the premier events in the country dedicated to antiques and fine arts while encouraging philanthropy from both young and young-at-heart alike. During the party, guests enjoyed access to an open bar and special appetizers, including fresh oysters and shrimp.
