Yesterday, we went to Uncork for a Cause at Claudia’s Steakhouse with Nationals pitcher Gio González and first-year manager Dusty Baker.

Gio hosted the event to raise awareness and funding for The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation and Big Blue Baseball of González's hometown high school, Hialeah High in Florida.

It also served as the release party for Gio’s very own 2013 Sonoma Reserve Red Wine. Only one barrel of this limited-edition blend was bottled for Gio’s charity program. We snapped Darcars' Eddie Morataya, David Whittenburg and Haman Baniaman.

Guests enjoyed a special menu from Claudia’s kitchen, soft bar, a complimentary bottle of Gio’s Sonoma Reserve Red wine, plus an auction packed with Nationals gear, local and national sports items and lots of wine from some of California’s elite producers, plus unique travel opportunities to wine country. Big Blue Baseball is a Florida nonprofit that provides financial support and planning directly to the Hialeah High School baseball team, where Gio began his career and won two state championships.
