Treasure Our Troops Gala!

Last Wednesday, ThanksUSA hosted their annual Treasure Our Troops Gala at the Four Season Hotel in Washington, D.C. Here, Dawn Goldfein and her husband, Gen. David L. Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, surround Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrell Green. The event featured Goldfein as keynote speaker and honored American Airlines and Kaplan University.

The gala is a celebration of ThanksUSA’s mission of providing educational scholarships to military spouses and children. Here, ThanksUSA board member Peter Thoren joins Deanna Okun and her husband, ThanksUSA Chairman and CEO B. Robert Okun, with retired Air Force Lt. Gen Tad Olestrom and Stephen Thoren.

During the gala, ThanksUSA unveiled the corporate sponsors of their Pathways for Patriots education-to-career initiative, which pairs companies seeking hard-to-find employees with the charity’s scholarship recipients. Here, Laura Schmiegel and her husband, ThanksUSA president, retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col Kevin Schmiegel.
