We joined 2,000 of our closest friends at DAR Constitution Hall Saturday night for the annual Taste of the South.

Rep. Billy Long led the live auction. We snapped him flanked by UMD student Elizabeth Owen, MGH Consultings Peter Mindnich, DHHS Natalie Hanrion, Peters brother Electronic Transaction Assns Chris Mindnich, and Varsights Drake Haywoode.

Guests grabbed swag and local dishes from 13 southern states. Here, DynCorps Jason Rossbach,his wife PR guru Laurie, with DynCorp VP Ashley Burke,her husband the Federal Reserves Brendan Burkein the VIP room, servingCatoctin Creek Sazerac.

The half-million in proceeds are split among 14 charities (13 states + DC), with a spotlight on Virginia. Here, plastic surgeon Mark Clymer,his wife Aegis Sciences Kasey, FamousDC editor Morgan Gress, AAFMAAs Lauren Wynn, and APIs Brian Johnson.

Later in the evening, it turned into a big dance party. Here, Banner Public Affairs Jesse Appleton, event chair Ali Gabel, eBays Lauren White, and her husband, teacher Brandon White.
