Friday we went to the The Great Gatsby Presidential Inaugural Ball at The National Portrait Gallery. Here, Dardanella's Paul Ervin and Emerald Lucas with composer and producer Patrick Soluri.

The event was billed as Washington's largest nonpolitical, political Inauguration Day event. We snapped women's activist Emily Ebert with management consultant Natalie Rubin.

Party attendees were treated to Big Band scores of the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s with an 11-piece orchestra, dance performances and contests, dance floors, photo sets, hors d'oeuvres, and specialty open bar Prohibition cocktails. Here are members of the INDAK dance troupe that performed at the event — David Love, Jenny Shaffer and Virgil Bryant.

Guests like DOJ's Sarah Reynolds and GSA's Erika Ostergaard returned to a bygone era of grandiose ball rooms, flapper dresses, white or black tie attire, peak lapels and top hats.
