Tennis & Chef Challenge!

Another night of great tennis at Citi Open and another night of great weather. We’re crossing our fingers for the weekend.

We snapped Castleton Holdings’ Bruce Bradley and his daughter with developer Bob Kettler and his wife Charlotte. We gasped as 135 mile an hour serves flew right at us. Two American men advanced: Donald Young beat Denis Istomin 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, and Steve Johnson beat Ivo Karlovic 3-6, 7-6, 7-6. In a battle between two American women, Vania King beat Christina McHale 6-1, 6-3. We’ll be there tonight to cheer them all on.

Outside the tennis courts last night was a fun-filled chef challenge emceed by Graffiato and Kapnos owner/chef Mike Isabella. We snapped him with one of the two competing chefs, Del Campo’s Victor Albisu. The others: Ripple and Roofers Union chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley and famed Argentine chef Diego Biondi, in from NYC.

The judges: Perigee Spirits CEO Charles Marnier (whom we believe is related to Grand Marnier), 94.7 FM’s Tommy McFly, and Bisnow Dining editor Laura Hayes. The three chefs each prepared a shrimp appetizer and a steak main course. To learn exactly what dish each prepared and who won, check out today’s Dining Bisnow.
