Taste of the Nation!

Last night we also went to Taste of the Nation hosted by Share Our Strength at the National Building Museum. It’s the premier culinary benefit for the No Kid Hungry campaign, to end childhood hunger by ensuring that kids eat nutritious meals, teaching families how to cook healthy meals, and raising awareness. We snapped FAA’s Schedir Illoldi, Marriott’s Mark O’Connor, ServRight’s Jill Dusenberry, SoS’s Tamra McCraw, and Capital One’s Scott Wistner.

Over 800 guests gathered to taste food from 99 top DC restaurants and food trucks, while they bid on silent auction items. Here, Jason Musone, Novavax’s Daphne Papanicolaou, and upper NW DC fave Blue 44’s Ximena and Chris Nardelli.

Some of our faves were Zentan’s escolar with pickled jalapenos, Poste’s smoked duck, Blue Duck Tavern’s lamb croquettes, and Room 11’s bulgogi sliders. Here, Pillsbury’s Roberto Garcia, Slevin & Hart’s Mayoung Nham and Elizabeth Down, NLIHC’s Shambhavi Manglik, and FDIC’s Laura Corso.

For dessert, guests indulged in B Too’s red devil sponge cake, 2941’s pecan cream puffs with carrot cake mousse, and Dolcezza’s clementine sorbet. Here, MD Gov’s Office for Children’s Anne Sheridan, and SoS’s Molly McCloskey and Donna Batcho.
