Spooky Zoo!

Last night we also went to the National Zoo for the annual Night of the Living Zoo hosted by FONZ, Friends of the National Zoo. We snapped Whitman-Walker’s Lindsay McLaren and Hart Investigations’ Dietrick Hart in the VIP area, where guests enjoyed tarot card readings, animal demonstrations, karaoke, and dancing.

It was fun to be in the zoo after hours and see the festive Halloween decorations, live music, and performance artists including fire breathers and illusionists. Here, Kim Kaleta, Carrie Gillen, and Brett Freels.

In the reptile house: engineer Chris Wildmann and teacher Heather Wildmann as beekeeper and bee.

Delish food included jalapeno cheddar grits, smoked pulled pork, and coleslaw from Smoke & Barrel. Here, Mina Kim and Alan Wolf as #Selfies.

A big crowd gathered for the costume contest and cheered loudest to decide the winner; first prize went to these characters from Clue; second went to the cast of Frozen.

There were giant lawns games set up around the zoo. Here, a banana playing beer pong.
