La Grande Fête!

We went to La Maison Française, the French embassy, for La Grande Fête hosted by SMITHSONIAN at 8 and Francophonie DC. We snapped Serbian Embassy's Ivana Mangov, Zowadi Rowe, Natasha Dabetic with folk costumes collector Biljana Regan.

The fête marks the closing celebration of the 2016 DC Francophonie Cultural Festival, which spotlights the music, art, literature, film, cuisine and customs of French-speaking countries; there were food and drink from 30 embassies, including Belgium, Congo, Mali, and Ivory Coast. Here, Radio One's Kristopher Simpson, Paige Sipe and PNC Business Banking's Basile Aziagbe.

Guests enjoyed a performance by accordionist-guitarist Major Handy, center, dubbed "King of Cajun Blue Zydeco” for his music, a mix of rousing Cajun blues and modern riffs. He was followed by a dance party by DJ Princess Slaya.
