The gala celebrated the incredible coaches and volunteers who make the DC SCORES after-school program possible. Here, DC SCORES Teamwork Award winner Chavez Prep Middle School’s Orlando Serrano, Rookie of the Year Award winner Raymond Education Campus’ David Peterson, and Kennedy Award for Commitment winner Imagine Hope Community Charter School’s Jerome Clemons.
DC SCORES builds teams through after-school programs for 1,500 low-income DC youth at 44 schools combining poetry and spoken word, soccer and service-learning year-round. The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, followed by awards to six people and two teams who made an impact on the lives of DC kids. Here, Robert Half's Lauren Woolley, Samaritan Inns' Justin Feltman, Grant Thornton's Joshua McGee and DC SCORES' Libby Watkins.
