Last night we also went to the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce inaugural Scholarship Reception at Key Concepts Knowledgebase in Fairfax. We snapped Alexandria mayor Bill Euille, Braddock District supervisor John Cook, NVBCC chairman Dr. Douthard Butler (who’s also at George Mason), and scholarship committee chair Ralph Perrino (who's also at No Va Tutoring Service).
The $1,000 scholarship went to TC Williams High School student Amen Hailegiorgis, here with his proud parents Belete Belayneh and Emawayesh Kassa.
NVBCC is a nonprofit that creates opportunities for businesses to build relationships, expand networks, obtain professional development, and build their companies. Here, Alexandria School Board vice chair Chris Lewis, Sen Tim Kane staffer Joe Montano, and Micah Edmond, who’s running for Congress in Virginia's 8th district.
