Sakerum!

Last night, we headed to Sakerum on 14th Street for its launch party. The new sushi bar, Asian-Latin restaurant and cocktail lounge, hosted the invite-only celebration featuring a tasting of its menu and an open bar with some of its delicious cocktails. We snapped restaurant partner Constandina Economides with her husband, owner and restaurateur Stephanos Andreou, enjoying the gorgeous roof deck.

Guests enjoyed a sampling of the cocktail menu, blending Latin flavors and rum, with subtle Japanese elements. We loved the Nice Grenades. Here, Dolci Gelati's Anastasia Dellaccio joins Sunshine Sachs' Amelia Makin and Georgetowner editor-in-chief Robert Devaney.

In addition to their featured cocktails, guests enjoyed an open bar featuring sake, craft beers and summer wines. Here SEV Cities' Amanda Gray Bailey, Haley Moyers, SEV Cities' CEO Aylin Sevgili and Arezu Hadjialiloo enjoying the roof deck.

Guests also enjoyed a selection of Latin-Asian inspired appetizers, including sesame short rib skewers and ahi tuna ceviche. Here, restaurant investors Hisham Jalil and Chirag Patel surround restaurant partner Constandina Economides.

Besides the Latin-Asian bites, guests also enjoyed a selection of spicy tuna and California rolls made by the Sakerum's sushi chefs, led by chef Khan Gayabazar. Here Christman Co's Pardise Salehy joins her brother, Accenture's Darien Salehy, and MoKi Media's Dannia Hakki.

Sakerum's atmosphere is modeled, in part, on the traditional Japanese concept of the izakaya, a warm, welcoming gastropub, tinged with the flair of a Latin lounge. Here SACC's Clare Stigring, Sen. Paul Strauss staffer Rema Zadah and the EPA's Ruchi Patel.
