On Saturday, we headed to the grand opening of the newest REI Flagship Store in NoMA. We snapped members of Batalá Washington as they performed at the store's entrance. Batalá Washington is an all-women, Afro-Brazilian band that plays samba-reggae rhythms. The new REI Flagship store occupies the space known as the Uline Arena, formerly the Washington Coliseum, and it's where The Beatles first performed in the US in 1964.

Across the way in NoMA's Storey Park, we joined hundreds of spectators as REI launched its #UnitedOutside Block Party. Here, legendary rapper Biz Markie had just what the crowd needed, along with myriad other performers.
