REAL Food!

Last night we also headed to the inaugural REAL Food Innovator Awards Gala at the historic Whittemore House hosted by the US Healthful Food Council. We snapped its CEO Lawrence Williams with his parents Ann and Richard Williams.

REAL, which stands for Responsible Epicurean and Agricultural Leadership, celebrates culinary leaders who promote healthful and sustainable foods. USHFC fights diet-related diseases and adjusts industry standards to accommodate consumer health needs. Here, Seafood Nutrition Partnership’s Linda Cornish, Cornell University’s Tom Brenna, Treasury Dept's James Clark and his wife, Steinhardt School’s Sierra Clark.

During the reception, guests sipped tiki bubbles and farm daisy cocktails, while they tasted vegan mini crab cakes in ginger aioli and lamb picadillo in phyllo. Here, PlantBased Solutions’ Natalie Nava, Janna Bilski and Amanda Morgan, and USHFC’s Eleni Papadopoulos.

The family-style dinner, prepared by Top Chef Sam Talbot, included crispy braised chicken in adobo, seared dogish with nduja vinaigrette, and roasted kohlrabi. Here, Fortessa’s Valerie Andenmatten, Tiffany Grygo, Marion Volk-Condon, and Jeffrey Smith.
